Second Life Experience

On 15 of Nov I log on into second life. My team are myself Kai Yu, Joshua and Alex
What is Second Life?
Well its a open 3D virtual "world" where people meet up and socializes other people by Text or vocal.

Logging into new open socializing environment, I find the online program that looks a game its a bit wield at first. Normally I went log on into online games other then just socializing I also start doing quest with them as well and enjoy the game .So this is the first time I'm logged on to socializes.

the features rather hard to pick up. My first task is to visit Hong Kong Polytechnic U along with Kai Yu, Joshua and Alex. when I was teleported to the destination, My avatar appeared st virtual campus. While waiting for like 5 to 10 minutes my house black out. Luckily I manage to flip the "circuit breaker" back "on" in time then the Hong Kong students logged in and greeted us namely, Rick and Kevin.

1) What is your dream holiday destination?

Rick: Maldives

Kevin: Taiwan (Wandering in Taipei in a sunny day)

2) Is it ethical to use social media for harmful effects (e.g. cyber-bullying, impersonation, terrorism, violence)? Why?

Rick: It’s not ethical to hurt others in the internet.

Kevin: Harmful us of social media must be banned. This is because it’s impolite to the victims psychologically threatening to victims.

3) How can you use social media in a more responsible way?

Rick: To avoid using insulting words in the comments on friends. (E.g. like facebook…… too many people disclose other’s secret of insulting friend.

Kevin: More good and encouragin comments (Don’t tell lies).

4) How do you protect yourself from the bad effects of using social media?

Rick: Suggest to un-friend or delete the stranger in the social media. And proper security, level for disclosing information or photos to others. Try to protect your ‘secret photos’.

Kevin: Say everything true, and can say nothing to prevent saying false things. One of the effective method to protect yourself, is try not to expose your information too much in the web.

After asking them a series of assignment questions, they did the same and I answered as followed.

1) Did we changed our living place?

Myself: I never change any house when I was young and also I feel comfortable where I'm staying at.

2) What kind of information you are expected to be shared in the ‘Timeline’?

Myself: Its like a history of your things you post in Facebook where you can easily look at or retrieve by scrolling the history of Timeline.

3) If you want to find friends with similarities in facebook, which similarities are important? (e.g. same high school?)

Myself: Hobbies, music, games mostly same old school like primary/secondly school.

4) Do you mind exposing your religion/views on religions in timeline/facebook?

Myself: Nope it does not matter.

5) What is the most important incident in your life?

Me: When my father bring home me a computer from his office and give to me because it totally change my life. there is one point of time the computer spoil that when I was primary 3 only and my father refuse to repair it and I can't play any games with it. So I decided to try to repair it myself and start asking around on how to repair it when I did repair manage to repair the computer that is when I realised I have a talent and passion for computers.

And just after that my house black out again permanently. it turns out my "earth leakage circuit breaker" is spoil and there nothing I can do about it till next day when the electioneer came to replace it. Here is the pic of my old "earth leakage circuit breaker"
